Tunisian Blanket

Materials:

  • Tunisian crochet hook (size appropriate for your yarn)
  • Worsted weight yarn in 2 or more colors
  • Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Stitches Used:

  • Tunisian Simple Stitch (TSS)
  • Tunisian Purl Stitch (TPS)

The model consists of 7+7+2 floors. If you want to knit, you need to start by counting from 7 and multiples of your chain.

Instructions:

  1. Foundation:
    • Chain a multiple of stitches according to your desired width. For example, chain 80.
  2. Forward Pass (Right to Left):
    • Insert the hook into the second chain from the hook.
    • Yarn over and pull up a loop. Leave the loop on the hook.
    • Repeat across, pulling up a loop in each chain.
  3. Return Pass (Left to Right):
    • Yarn over and pull through the first loop on the hook.
    • Yarn over and pull through two loops on the hook. Repeat until one loop remains.
  4. Tunisian Simple Stitch Rows:
    • Work TSS for the first 5 rows to create a solid base.
  5. Stripes (Color Changes):
    • Change to a new color for a stripe. You can alternate colors as desired.
    • Work several rows in TSS with the new color.

  1. Tunisian Purl Stitch Rows:
    • Create texture by working TPS for a few rows. Insert the hook from right to left behind the front vertical bar of the next stitch, yarn over, and pull up a loop.
  2. Continue:
    • Alternate between TSS and TPS rows, changing colors as desired, to create a visually interesting pattern.
  3. Edging:
